'SLIO CPU 013C - the new Vipa compact CPU!'

12.08.2016

With the new SLIO compact CPU VIPA is presenting an extremely fast CPU and supplementing the SLIO family with a compact CPU. it combines a PLC CPU and digital and analog input and output channels and special channels with technologically special functions all in a single housing. It sets new standards especially with regard to speed combined with compact design. The sales launch will be in May 2016

-Powerful features despite its small size

The uniqueness of the new SLIO CPU based on the SPEED7 technology for the highest clock rates and fast program processing. This allows fast processes, precise positioning and diverse control tasks. Additional benefits in speed are provided by the extremely fast backplane transmission of 48 Mbit/s. An additional feature is that up to 64 expansion modules can be connected to the CPU, compiled from the SLIO system, including all SLIO technology modules. Of the 30 integrated digital and analog I/O channels in total 4 input channels can be used as counter and frequency measurement and 2 output channels can be used for PWM. So even without additional expansion modules there are diverse usage options – and this in a very compact design.

-Interfaces

The two integrated Ethernet interfaces are for programming and communication and allow access to the integrated web interface. Additional interface modules are not necessary and therefore save time and money. The integrated RS485 interface is available for optional usage of PROFIBUS DP slave functions.

-Flexible memory and fieldbus configuration:

Work memory and PROFIBUS slave functions can be configured by means of the VIPA SET Card (VSC). Procurement and logistics as well as service and maintenance are therefore simplified. Here the user profits both by the space saving in the control cabinet as well as by a cost saving of up to approx. 30% on the procurement side, compared with modular system solutions.

-Target application:

The SLIO compact CPU is especially suitable for application in very small or medium sized facilities and machineries – especially where the onboard I/Os are already covering many requirements -by means of its high performance and the extensive expansion options. Additional tasks can be implemented very easily such as further analog, counter, or ETS modules.
